"Called Hawana not knowing whether I needed furnace repair, a new furnace, or something more. Our 17-year-old York was making noise and heating unevenly. The technician did a full diagnostic: heat exchanger intact, inducer motor showing early wear, and a separated flex duct in the basement causing uneven heating. Recommendation: repair the inducer motor ($500) not replace the furnace ($3,400). Flex duct reconnected same visit. Both problems solved. The comprehensive approach — diagnosing the duct issue alongside the furnace — was the difference between solving the actual problem and just treating a symptom."
"Moved into a 1980s Old South London home and wanted a full heating assessment before winter. Hawana found: 19-year-old Lennox with early-stage heat exchanger stress fractures; ductwork with three failed duct tape joints and one separated flex duct; and a seized shut-off valve at the furnace. Clear recommendation: replace the furnace (timing was right given the stress fractures), seal the ducts, replace the valve. All done in one installation visit. They could have recommended just the furnace — the additional issues were found honestly."

The technician found a heavily oxidised flame sensor nearly failing, a minor bird nest in the flue from the previous spring, and a filter that had not been replaced in about 18 months.
