Ductless AC
London Ontario.
From $3,700.
Single-Zone. Multi-Zone. All-In.

Ductless mini-split installation in London Ontario — single-zone from $3,700 all-in, multi-zone from $5,500. No ductwork required. A single line set (about 3 inches in diameter) drilled through the wall connects the indoor air handler to the outdoor condenser. Installation typically 3–5 hours for single-zone. Heat pump models cool in summer and heat in winter, rated to −25°C for London Ontario winters.

Ductless is the right solution for garages, workshops, sunrooms, additions, hot rooms, and homes without existing ductwork. Every Hawana installation includes a nitrogen pressure test to confirm zero leaks before refrigerant is introduced, then a vacuum pulled to 500 microns to remove all moisture. These two steps are skipped by some installers. Hawana does not skip them — and it’s the reason the installations don’t fail within the first year.

Certified HVAC technician — not TSSA. Ductless installation requires refrigerant certification, not TSSA gas certification. Abdullah holds the correct Ontario credentials for R-32 A2L and R-410A systems.

Six Most Common London Ontario Ductless Applications

Where Ductless AC Is
the Right Solution

Each situation has a different reason why ductless is the right choice. Here are the six most common London Ontario scenarios with the real photo, the honest reason, and the price.

Garage workshop London Ontario ductless mini-split installation — no ductwork required
🔧 Garage & Workshop
Single-Zone from $3,700 • Most Common Request
No ductwork in a garage. Running a branch from the home’s central system is usually impossible. A TOSOT or Kepler single-zone from $3,700 makes the garage usable in July and August. Heat pump models also heat in winter. Requires a dedicated electrical circuit. Call (647) 550-4220.
Ductless mini-split AC installation in a sunroom
🌞 Sunroom & Addition
Single-Zone from $3,700 • Year-Round Comfort
Sunrooms and additions are rarely on the home’s ductwork. A ductless unit needs one wall hole for the line set. Heat pump models make the sunroom comfortable all four seasons. Samsung Wind-Free (gentle diffused airflow) is popular for sunrooms. Call (647) 550-4220.
A new, white Multi zone TOSOT ductless mini-split outdoor condenser unit securely mounted on white brackets against a residential brick wall, with neatly organized, insulated refrigerant lines.
🏠 Multi-Zone Bedrooms
2–3 Zone from $5,500 • Independent Control
Upstairs bedrooms are the hardest room to cool in London Ontario. 2–3 zone TOSOT with one indoor per room gives each person independent temperature control. Upstairs typically runs 5–6°C hotter than downstairs — this solves it permanently. Call (647) 550-4220.
Multi Zone LG ductless mini-split line set routing
🏠🏠 No-Ductwork Home
4-Zone from $7,500 • Full Home, No Renovation
Pre-1970s London Ontario homes often have no ductwork. Installing central ductwork is disruptive and expensive. A 4-zone system provides whole-home cooling without renovation — one outdoor unit, four indoor handlers, each independently controlled. Call (647) 550-4220.
ComfortStar ductless air conditioning indoor unit installed on a stone wall above a Subway restaurant sign
📄 Hot Room / Home Office
Single-Zone from $3,700 • Targeted Fix
A south-facing home office or top-floor bedroom that central AC can’t cool. A single-zone ductless unit solves this permanently without modifying the central system. Quieter than window AC. No window blocked. Better looking. Year-round with heat pump. Call (647) 550-4220.

Why Installation Quality Determines Whether the System Lasts

Proper Installation vs
The Shortcuts That Fail

The most expensive ductless problem is a refrigerant leak or moisture contamination appearing 6–12 months after installation — caused by skipped steps during commissioning. Know what to ask for before any technician starts work.

✓ Every Hawana Installation
Nitrogen pressure test at 300 PSI, held 30+ minutes. Any pressure drop = leak found and fixed before refrigerant is introduced. No exceptions.
Vacuum pulled to 500 microns and held. Moisture and non-condensable gases completely removed. Verified with Fieldpiece manifold before refrigerant release.
Refrigerant charged by weight to manufacturer specification using Elitech wireless scale. Not estimated. Not by pressure alone.
Outdoor unit leveled with digital level on concrete pad or properly rated wall brackets. Snow stand installed standard on heat pump models.
Indoor unit anchored to wall studs. Drain line routed to exterior or condensate pump — not left dripping inside the wall cavity.
Tested in both cooling and heating modes with infrared thermometer confirming correct supply air temperature before leaving.
Line set fully insulated and covered for clean appearance and UV protection.
✕ Common Shortcuts — What Goes Wrong
No nitrogen pressure test. A pinhole leak in the line set is invisible without pressure testing. Refrigerant leaks out slowly over months — the system underperforms then stops working entirely.
Inadequate vacuum. Residual moisture reacts with refrigerant to form acids that corrode the compressor internally. The system fails well before its expected lifespan.
Refrigerant charged by pressure estimate. Without weighing the charge, systems are routinely over or undercharged. Both conditions shorten compressor life significantly.
Outdoor unit not properly leveled. Compressor oil migration issues over time. Drainage problems on heat pump models. Premature compressor failure.
Indoor unit on drywall anchors. Vibration from the indoor handler eventually loosens the mount. Unit drops. Refrigerant lines stressed or kinked.
System tested in cooling only. Heat pump defect not detected at installation — discovered in winter when the unit won’t heat.

Before hiring any ductless installer, ask: “Do you do a nitrogen pressure test before charging?” and “What vacuum level do you pull to?” If they don’t know what you’re asking, the answer is no. (647) 550-4220

Bladex heat pump installation with a vacuum pump and digital gauges attached for system commissioning by Hawana HVAC Solutions
Bladex Heat Pump Installation — Vacuum and Commissioning — London Ontario
500-micron vacuum verified on Fieldpiece manifold before refrigerant release — every installation
Why the Vacuum Step Is the Most Important Part of Installation

Nitrogen Test + 500-Micron Vacuum.
Every Installation. No Exceptions.

This is what proper ductless commissioning looks like. After the system is assembled and pressure-tested with nitrogen, the Fieldpiece digital manifold and vacuum pump pull the entire refrigerant circuit down to 500 microns — removing all residual moisture and non-condensable gases before a single gram of refrigerant is introduced.

Why this matters: moisture trapped in a refrigerant circuit reacts with the refrigerant and compressor oil to form hydrofluoric acid. That acid corrodes the compressor internals. The system eventually fails — typically 2–4 years early — and the failure looks like a compressor failure, not an installation problem. The original installer is long gone.

  • Nitrogen test first: system charged to 300 PSI and held for 30 minutes. Any pressure loss means a leak — found and fixed before refrigerant is ever introduced.
  • Vacuum to 500 microns: the entire refrigerant circuit evacuated and held at 500 microns. Verified on the digital manifold. Not estimated by time.
  • Refrigerant by weight: charged to manufacturer specification on a wireless Elitech scale — not by pressure chart alone, not estimated.
  • Tested in both modes: cooling mode temperature verified with infrared thermometer. Heat pump models also tested in heating mode before job is called complete.
A new, white Multi zone TOSOT ductless mini-split outdoor condenser unit securely mounted on white brackets against a residential brick wall, with neatly organized, insulated refrigerant lines.
TOSOT Multi-Zone Ductless Installation — London Ontario
One outdoor unit, multiple indoor handlers • Independent temperature control per room
Multi-Zone — One Outdoor Unit, Multiple Rooms Independently Controlled

Multi-Zone Ductless
$5,500–$9,500 London Ontario

A multi-zone system runs 2, 3, or 4 indoor air handlers from a single outdoor condenser. Each indoor unit has its own remote control and independent temperature setting. The bedroom that needs 22°C can run while the home office stays at 19°C simultaneously — from the same outdoor unit, on the same refrigerant circuit.

Multi-zone outdoor units must be correctly sized for the combined load of all connected indoor units. An oversized outdoor unit causes short-cycling. An undersized unit can’t meet peak demand. Abdullah calculates the combined load before recommending any multi-zone configuration. The number and size of indoor units determines the outdoor unit — not the other way around.

  • 2–3 zone from $5,500 all-in. Most common upstairs bedroom application in London Ontario homes.
  • 4-zone from $7,500 all-in. Full home coverage without ductwork.
  • TOSOT multi-zone is Hawana’s primary multi-zone recommendation in London Ontario — Canadian warranty, strong parts availability, reliable at −25°C.
  • Each zone independently controlled. One zone can be off while others run. No wasted cooling in empty rooms.
  • Multi-zone installation: one outdoor unit placement + multiple indoor mounts + line sets for each zone. Typically one full day for a 3-zone system.
From Written Quote to Running System — Typically 3–5 Hours for Single-Zone

How Ductless Installation Works
5 Steps — London Ontario

1
Written Quote — On-Site Measurement, System Selection, All-In Price

Abdullah measures the space, calculates BTU load for the room or home, confirms the right unit and capacity, and provides a written all-in quote before any work begins: unit + installation labour + line set + line set cover + electrical + commissioning. Same-day written quote in most cases. No pressure, no obligation. Call (647) 550-4220.

2
Indoor Unit Mounting — Level, Anchored to Studs, Drain Routed Correctly

Mounting bracket leveled and anchored to wall studs — not drywall anchors. Indoor unit clicked onto bracket. Drain line routed to exterior or condensate pump where exterior drain isn’t accessible. Indoor unit placement confirmed for correct airflow coverage of the room before finalizing.

3
Outdoor Unit — Leveled on Pad or Brackets, Line Set Routed and Covered

Outdoor condenser placed on concrete pad (preferred) or properly rated wall brackets and leveled with a digital level. Core drilled through wall at correct pitch. Line set (refrigerant lines, drain, control wire, electrical) run, insulated, and covered with line set cover. Outdoor electrical disconnect wired. Snow stand installed standard on all heat pump models.

4
Nitrogen Pressure Test — 300 PSI, 30 Minutes Minimum, Leak-Free Confirmed

System charged with nitrogen to 300 PSI and held for a minimum of 30 minutes. Any pressure drop indicates a leak — found and repaired before refrigerant is introduced. This step is skipped by some installers because it takes time and adds no income. Hawana does not skip it. A refrigerant leak in a newly installed system is a serious installation failure — nitrogen testing prevents it completely.

5
Vacuum to 500 Microns — Refrigerant Commission — Test Cooling and Heating Modes

System evacuated to 500 microns and held — verified on Fieldpiece digital manifold. Refrigerant released and charge verified by weight on Elitech wireless scale to manufacturer specification. System run in cooling mode: supply air temperature confirmed with infrared thermometer. Run in heating mode for heat pump models. Installation complete only when both modes are confirmed running to spec. Invoice matches written quote.

13 Questions About Ductless AC in London Ontario — Answered

Frequently Asked Questions
Ductless Air Conditioner London Ontario 2026

Single-zone ductless AC in London Ontario: $3,700–$4,500 all-in (unit + installation + line set + electrical + commissioning). Multi-zone 2–3 rooms from one outdoor unit: $5,500–$7,500. Multi-zone 4 rooms: $7,500–$9,500. Prices depend on brand, capacity, number of zones, and line set length. All prices include unit, labour, line set, line set cover, electrical connection, nitrogen pressure test, vacuum to 500 microns, refrigerant commissioning, and test in both cooling and heating modes. Call (647) 550-4220 for a written on-site quote.
A ductless mini-split has two components: an outdoor condenser/compressor unit and one or more indoor air handlers mounted on the wall. Refrigerant runs through a small line set (about 3 inches in diameter) drilled through an exterior wall — no ductwork required. In cooling mode, the indoor unit absorbs heat from the room and the outdoor unit rejects that heat to the outside air. Heat pump models reverse this cycle in winter to provide heating. Single-zone covers one room; multi-zone covers 2–4 rooms from one outdoor unit with independent temperature control in each room. Call (647) 550-4220.
Hawana installs and recommends: TOSOT (primary recommendation — cold-climate inverter models, Canadian-market warranty, strongest London Ontario track record), Kepler ductless (solid performance at competitive price), Samsung (Wind-Free technology, app control, premium efficiency), LG (strong multi-zone product line, advanced inverter), Senville (reliable budget option for garages and workshops), Haier, Bladex, Gree, Midea ductless, and Comfort Star. All come with manufacturer warranty. Written installation quote before any work. Call (647) 550-4220.
Yes — heat pump models reverse the refrigerant cycle in winter to extract heat from outdoor air and deliver it inside. TOSOT and Kepler cold-climate models are rated to −25°C, making them functional as supplementary or primary heat sources for London Ontario. Efficiency decreases as outdoor temperature drops — at −15°C most cold-climate models deliver 60–75% of rated capacity. The most practical London Ontario configuration: ductless heat pump as primary cooling + supplementary heating above −15°C, with a gas furnace as backup for the coldest weeks. Call (647) 550-4220.
Single-zone: 3–5 hours. Multi-zone 2–3 rooms: 6–10 hours (usually one day). Multi-zone 4 rooms: 1–2 days. Every Hawana installation includes: indoor unit mounting, outdoor unit placement and leveling on pad or wall brackets, line set drilling and routing, electrical connection, nitrogen pressure test (300 PSI, 30 minutes minimum), vacuum to 500 microns, refrigerant commissioning, and testing in both cooling and heating modes. Call (647) 550-4220.
Yes — garage and workshop installations are the single most common ductless request Hawana receives. No ductwork exists in most garages, and running a branch from the home's central system is usually impractical or impossible. A single-zone TOSOT or Kepler unit from $3,700 all-in makes the garage usable in London Ontario's July and August heat. Heat pump models also provide winter heat, making the garage or workshop comfortable year-round. The installation requires a properly rated dedicated electrical circuit. Call (647) 550-4220 for a written quote.
Most ductless systems installed in London Ontario today use R-32 (A2L) or R-410A refrigerant. R-32 is slightly flammable (A2L class — not the same as propane) and requires certified technicians with correct manifold equipment. R-410A is also widely used, especially on older systems. Hawana handles both refrigerants correctly with proper R-32 A2L manifold equipment. R-22 systems are no longer manufactured — if your existing ductless uses R-22, replacement is the correct decision. Call (647) 550-4220.
Single-zone: one room or open-concept area. Multi-zone: 2–4 rooms from one outdoor unit, each with its own wall-mounted air handler and independent thermostat. Each zone can be set to a different temperature simultaneously — the upstairs bedroom that needs 22°C can run while the home office stays at 20°C. Multi-zone 2–3 rooms: from $5,500. Multi-zone 4 rooms: from $7,500. Call (647) 550-4220.
A proper ductless installation in London Ontario includes: (1) Indoor unit mounted level, secured to wall studs, drain routed to exterior or condensate pump; (2) Outdoor unit leveled on a concrete pad or properly rated wall brackets, snow stand standard for heat pump models; (3) Line set correctly sized, insulated, and covered; (4) Nitrogen pressure test at 300 PSI held for at least 30 minutes — leak-free confirmed before any refrigerant is introduced; (5) Vacuum pulled to 500 microns and held — moisture completely removed; (6) Refrigerant charged to manufacturer specification by weight, not estimated. A poor installation skips the nitrogen test and doesn't pull a proper vacuum — the result is moisture contamination in the system and a refrigerant leak that shows up within the first year. Call (647) 550-4220.
Yes — sunrooms and additions are the second most common ductless application in London Ontario after garages. These spaces are rarely connected to the home's existing ductwork. A ductless unit requires only one hole for the line set and one dedicated electrical circuit. Heat pump models make a sunroom comfortable all four seasons. Samsung's Wind-Free technology (gentle diffused airflow) is popular for sunrooms where direct air conditioning feels uncomfortable. Single-zone from $3,700 all-in. Call (647) 550-4220.
Single-zone: one outdoor unit connected to one indoor air handler. Cools or heats one room or open area. Most economical option. Multi-zone: one outdoor unit connected to 2, 3, or 4 indoor air handlers, each in a different room, each independently controlled. Multi-zone allows different temperatures in different rooms simultaneously from a single outdoor unit — more efficient than running multiple single-zone systems. Multi-zone outdoor units must be correctly sized for the combined load of all connected indoor units. Abdullah sizes both correctly before quoting. Call (647) 550-4220.
Heat pump ductless models work in London Ontario winters and provide efficient heating down to approximately −15°C to −20°C. Below that, efficiency drops significantly. Standard (non-cold-climate) models are rated to around −15°C and should not be used as a primary heat source in London Ontario. Cold-climate models (TOSOT, Kepler cold-climate, and similar) are rated to −25°C and are suitable as supplementary heat sources, with a gas furnace providing backup capacity for the coldest weeks. The indoor air handler should also be in heating mode configuration — ask Abdullah about this during the quote. Call (647) 550-4220.
